NYSBA Warsaw Spring Meeting 2023 — Ukraine One Year On

On 30 March 2023, the NYSBA International Section 2023 Warsaw Spring Meeting took place at Klub Bankowca, ul. Smolna 6, Warsaw, under the theme: “Ukraine: Where Are We Now? Legal Consequences A Year After Russia’s Full-Scale Attack on Ukraine”.

Atty. Szymon Gostyński served as a member of the Steering Committee and as moderator of Session 1: “Prosecution of Crimes Against Ukraine as A Driver of Evolution of International Criminal Law”. The session examined how the aggression against Ukraine has shaped international criminal and humanitarian law, and sought to predict the long-term consequences for the international legal order.

Speakers included Anton Korynevych — Government Agent before the International Court of Justice — as well as scholars from Ukrainian universities and representatives of the International Criminal Court.

The conference was both an expression of solidarity with Ukraine and a platform for knowledge exchange among lawyers from Poland, Ukraine, the United States and other countries committed to holding Russia accountable for its war crimes.
