On 19–21 May 2022, Kraków hosted the 62nd DACH Conference — a recurring gathering of lawyers from German-speaking countries and their partners from Central and Eastern Europe. Sessions took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel on ul. Floriana Straszewskiego 17 and at the City Council Chamber (Sala Obrad Miasta Krakowa).
The conference theme was “Rechtsstaatlichkeit in Krisensituationen und Datenschutz” — the rule of law in crisis situations and data protection. The topics were especially timely given Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine and the recent experience of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Atty. Szymon Gostyński LL.M. co-organised the event and moderated a panel on the limits of interference with personal rights under the rule of law, bringing together lawyers from several countries with different legal systems.
The programme also included an evening reception at the Austrian General Consulate, a gala dinner at Restauracja Trzy Rybki in Hotel Stary, and cultural visits to the Museum of the Princes Czartoryski and Auschwitz.
