Employee Stock Options and RSU in Poland – When Do You Pay Tax?

RSUs (Restricted Stock Units) and employee stock options are common forms of equity compensation in international companies. For Polish tax residents, RSU taxation is typically deferred until shares are sold, at which point they are reported as capital gains in PIT-38 at a flat 19% rate. Simply receiving or vesting shares does not trigger a tax obligation.
